Job Summary:

We are urgently seeking an experienced Alation Architect to lead the discovery phase and architecture design for an enterprise data governance platform migration from Collibra to Alation. This individual will play a critical role in defining the future state of our metadata management landscape and should be skilled at handling both technical and business-facing aspects of architecture planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the discovery phase of migration from Collibra to Alation

  • Design and define the target architecture for Alation implementation

  • Identify data governance, cataloging, and metadata management requirements

  • Collaborate with stakeholders including business, data governance, and IT teams to gather requirements and propose solutions

  • Create architectural documentation including integration points, metadata flows, and governance models

  • Support data lineage, cataloging, and classification strategies using Alation

  • Work closely with the existing Collibra architect to ensure smooth transition and alignment

  • Provide guidance on best practices and architectural patterns for Alation usage

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience working as an Alation Architect or in a senior Alation implementation role

  • Deep understanding of data governance, metadata management, and data catalog tools

  • Experience with migrating from Collibra to Alation (or similar metadata management platform transitions)

  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture, data flows, and metadata lineage

  • Ability to create technical architecture diagrams and documentation

  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with business and technical teams

  • Collibra experience is a plus, but not mandatory
