About the Opportunity:
We are seeking a highly skilled Linux Systems Administrator to join our Systems Administration team in Memphis, TN. This is a permanent, full-time onsite opportunity, ideal for a proactive and detail-oriented professional eager to contribute to the stability, security, and performance of enterprise-scale Linux environments.
You ll play a key role in designing, managing, and optimizing mission-critical systems while collaborating across IT teams to support infrastructure initiatives and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, configure, and manage robust Linux server environments across the enterprise
- Ensure system integrity through security audits, patching, and hardening practices
- Monitor infrastructure health and address issues proactively to minimize downtime
- Optimize system performance, availability, and scalability in line with evolving business needs
- Work collaboratively with network, security, and DevOps teams on infrastructure projects
- Document system architecture, configurations, and standard operating procedures
- Mentor junior administrators and provide cross-functional technical guidance
Required Technical Expertise:
- Operating Systems: Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Oracle Linux, HP-UX, CentOS
- Containerization: Experience with Red Hat OpenShift and container orchestration
- Automation & Scripting: Proficient in Bash, Python, Ansible, Terraform
- Print Services: Familiarity with CUPS (Common Unix Printing System)
- Security: Hands-on experience with vulnerability remediation, security audits, and penetration test response
- Systems Engineering: Strong troubleshooting and system design skills in complex Linux environments
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with VMware and other virtualization platforms
- Familiarity with CVS, SVN, or other version control systems
- Working knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Exposure to DevOps tools and methodologies
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years of professional Linux system administration experience in enterprise environments
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team environment
