Linux Systems Administrator

Location: Memphis, TN (Onsite)

About the Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled Linux Systems Administrator to join our Systems Administration team in Memphis, TN. This is a permanent, full-time onsite opportunity, ideal for a proactive and detail-oriented professional eager to contribute to the stability, security, and performance of enterprise-scale Linux environments.

You ll play a key role in designing, managing, and optimizing mission-critical systems while collaborating across IT teams to support infrastructure initiatives and drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, configure, and manage robust Linux server environments across the enterprise
  • Ensure system integrity through security audits, patching, and hardening practices
  • Monitor infrastructure health and address issues proactively to minimize downtime
  • Optimize system performance, availability, and scalability in line with evolving business needs
  • Work collaboratively with network, security, and DevOps teams on infrastructure projects
  • Document system architecture, configurations, and standard operating procedures
  • Mentor junior administrators and provide cross-functional technical guidance

Required Technical Expertise:

  • Operating Systems: Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Oracle Linux, HP-UX, CentOS
  • Containerization: Experience with Red Hat OpenShift and container orchestration
  • Automation & Scripting: Proficient in Bash, Python, Ansible, Terraform
  • Print Services: Familiarity with CUPS (Common Unix Printing System)
  • Security: Hands-on experience with vulnerability remediation, security audits, and penetration test response
  • Systems Engineering: Strong troubleshooting and system design skills in complex Linux environments

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with VMware and other virtualization platforms
  • Familiarity with CVS, SVN, or other version control systems
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Exposure to DevOps tools and methodologies

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of professional Linux system administration experience in enterprise environments
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team environment
