Job Title: Mainframe Computer Operator - 2nd Shift
Location: Madison, WI (100% remote, must reside in WI)
Schedule: Sunday 5:30 AM - 6:30 PM, Monday-Wednesday 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Mainframe Computer Operator to join our team on the 2nd shift. This role is responsible for monitoring and managing batch jobs on the client's mainframe system. The ideal candidate will have experience with MVS or OS/390 systems, job scheduling (preferably using Control-M), and resolving job abends.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and analyze complex job flows across client-server and mainframe environments.
  • Resolve job abends and troubleshoot using JCL.
  • Perform job scheduling and submissions for developers and customers.
  • Serve as a liaison between technical developers and production support teams.
  • Maintain and update job documentation using Tivoli.
  • Create and manage ChangeMan packages.
  • Conduct QA checks on new jobs to ensure compliance.
  • Participate in SUITES/CEDARS meetings as needed.
  • Train and mentor other staff members.

Required Skills:
  • Experience with OS/390, MVS, JCL, and Control-M.
  • Strong problem-solving and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Enthusiasm for learning all aspects of CPS production operations.

Preferred Tools & Technologies:
  • CICS, TSO, Argent (AJS), Tivoli, ChangeMan, SDSF, HODv10, IDMS, DB2, VSAM, Thin Client, MS Office Suite.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr.
