SAP ABAP Developer (34738)

Our Government of Canada client is seeking an experienced SAP ABAP Developer to support and enhance enterprise SAP ERP financial and operational systems. The consultant will be responsible for developing, modifying, testing, and supporting ABAP programs across multiple SAP modules within a complex government environment.

Scope of Work

The successful consultant will support SAP ERP systems and develop integrated solutions related to the following modules and functionalities:

• SAP CO (Controlling)
  
  
• SAP FI (Financial Accounting) including:
  
  
  • Asset Accounting (AA)
    
    
  • Special Purpose Ledger (SPL)
• SAP FM (Funds Management - BCS)
  
  
• SAP MM (Materials Management)
  
  
• SAP PM (Plant Maintenance)
  
  
• SAP PS (Project Systems)
  
  
• DCP-ECC cluster custom functionalities, including:
  
  
  • Salary Forecasting Tool (SFT)
    
    
  • Financial Information Solution (FIS) interfaces

The role also includes developing SAP reports based on detailed functional specifications provided by CSA analysts.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide ABAP development, support, and technical advisory services to the CSA Financial Systems team
  
  
• Respond to inquiries via email, MS Teams, or phone within 2 business days
  
  
• Evaluate SAP change requests and provide ABAP effort estimates
  
  
• Develop and modify:
  
  
  • ABAP programs
    
    
  • User exits
    
    
  • SAP Scripts
    
    
  • Reports
• Debug new and existing ABAP programs
  
  
• Support and maintain DCP-ECC delivered functionalities
  
  
• Identify and resolve SAP transport errors
  
  
• Identify, analyze, and apply SAP OSS Notes
  
  
• Develop and maintain technical and functional documentation
  
  
• Provide ABAP support for potential migration to SAP ECC6 Enhancement Pack 8 (EHP8)
  
  
• Perform unit and integration testing to ensure solution quality

Mandatory Requirements

Candidates must meet all of the following criteria:

1. Minimum 1 year of hands-on ABAP programming experience in each of the following SAP modules:
   
   
   • CO (Controlling)
     
     
   • FI (Financial Accounting)
     
     
   • FM (Funds Management - BCS)
     
     
   • MM (Materials Management)
2. SAP ABAP Certification (mandatory)
   
   
3. Valid Reliability Status (Enhanced) security clearance
   (Candidates must already hold this clearance)
   
   
4. Experience with SAP Enhancement Pack 6, 7, or 8, demonstrated by:
   
   
   • At least one project where the consultant developed or modified customized SAP functions implemented on SAP EHP 6, 7, or 8
5. Government of Canada SAP experience, including:
   
   
   • Minimum five (5) projects involving ABAP programming to maintain, modify, and test customized programs, database definitions, and interfaces
     
     
   • Experience must be within Government of Canada organizations, including:
     
     
     • Federal departments
       
       
     • Agencies
       
       
     • Crown Corporations
       
       
     • Agents of Parliament

• Experience working in highly regulated public-sector environments
  
  
• Strong documentation and stakeholder communication skills
  
  
• Experience supporting financial and budgeting systems in SAP ECC
