Description
We are looking for a dedicated PC Technician to join our team in Southfield, Michigan. In this role, you will provide essential technical support by maintaining hardware, troubleshooting software, and ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems. This is a great opportunity for someone with a passion for technology and strong problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and maintain desktop and laptop computers, printers, scanners, and other IT hardware.
Diagnose and resolve hardware issues, including performing component replacements and system upgrades.
Troubleshoot and resolve software-related problems, including operating systems and business applications.
Assist with deploying software updates, patches, and new application installations.
Address network connectivity issues and ensure the proper functioning of peripheral devices.
Conduct routine system maintenance tasks, such as backups and disk cleanups, to optimize performance.
Keep detailed records of system issues, repairs, and updates using a ticketing system.
Manage IT equipment inventory, including asset tracking and procurement coordination.
Collaborate with the IT team to support larger hardware deployments or system upgrades.
Escalate unresolved technical issues to senior support staff or external vendors when necessary.
Requirements
Strong knowledge of computer hardware, including desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
Experience with Dell, IBM, and Apple devices.
Familiarity with operating systems such as Linux, Windows, and macOS.
Proficiency in Active Directory and backup technologies.
Ability to perform cable installations and manage hardware setups.
Strong troubleshooting skills for both hardware and software issues.
Excellent organizational skills for inventory management and documentation.
Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and vendors.
