Description

We are looking for a talented and driven Google Cloud Engineer to join our IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure using Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform). The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience with cloud technologies, have a strong grasp of Google Cloud Platform services, and be dedicated to optimizing cloud environments for scalability, security, and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Cloud Infrastructure Design & Deployment:
  • Design, deploy, and manage secure, scalable, and reliable cloud environments using various Google Cloud Platform services including Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud Networking, and BigQuery.

Automation & DevOps Practices:
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployments using tools such as Helm.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Cloud Build, Jenkins, or other similar tools.

Performance Optimization:
  • Monitor cloud performance, suggest improvements, and optimize cloud resources to maintain cost-efficiency while ensuring high performance.

Security & Compliance:
  • Implement best practices for cloud security, including IAM roles, firewalls, encryption, VPCs, and data protection mechanisms.
  • Address compliance requirements for data storage and processing within cloud environments.

Collaboration & Troubleshooting:
  • Work with development, architecture, and cross-functional teams to provide technical expertise in designing cloud-based solutions.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to Google Cloud Platform infrastructure in a timely manner.

Cloud Cost Management:
  • Track and manage cloud expenditures by analyzing usage patterns and implementing cost-saving strategies.
  • Utilize native cost management tools within Google Cloud Platform to oversee budgets and resource consumption.

Documentation & Knowledge Sharing:
  • Create documentation for cloud architecture, processes, and best practices.
  • Provide training and mentorship to team members on Google Cloud technologies.

Innovation & Continuous Learning:
  • Stay informed on the latest developments in Google Cloud technologies and industry best practices.
  • Recommend and adopt new tools or technologies to streamline cloud operations.


Requirements

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience working with cloud platforms (Google Cloud Platform highly preferred).
  • Proficiency with Google Cloud Platform services such as Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, and BigQuery.
  • Knowledge of cloud networking (e.g., VPCs, load balancing, subnets, VPNs).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with cloud security concepts including IAM, encryption, and data protection.
  • Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python or Bash.
  • Proven problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities in cloud operations.
