Senior Report Developer

Job Description:

• The BI Solutions Developer will support the program areas within the Ministry by delivering Business Clientligence (BI) reporting solutions.
• The role involves collaborating with project teams to evaluate requirements, design and develop reports, dashboards, and visualizations using Power BI, ensuring compliance with accessibility standards, and contributing to the project's documentation and knowledge transfer activities.

Responsibilities or Duties:

• Participate in requirements gathering sessions to understand functional and non-functional needs
• CollaboXX with project team and stakeholders to assess and define the approach for delivering BI solutions
• Model and process data (ETL) to develop data repositories and warehouses using Microsoft Azure Data Factory, Data Bricks, and IBM InfoSphere DataStage
• XXgn and develop reports, dashboards, and visualizations within Power BI Desktop or Power BI Report Builder
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues discovered during pre-release testing of BI solutions
• Complete relevant documentation and support migration activities and knowledge transfer
• Ensure reports, dashboards, and visualizations meet quality assurance standards and comply with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 Level AA
• Provide updates on status, timelines, and issues, and collaboXX with project teams for seamless project execution

Experience:

• Experience working in a business intelligence team/environment, developing and delivering BI/analytical reports and dashboards
• Experience with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Report Builder for designing and developing reports and dashboards
• Experience writing and working with Microsoft Power BI DAX code to implement business logic in reports
• Experience troubleshooting SQL queries and validating data in BI reports for accuracy
• Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle databases, and ETL tools such as Azure Data Factory, IBM InfoSphere DataStage

Required Skills:

• DemonstXXd working knowledge of Power BI Desktop and Power BI Paginated Report Builder (at least 2 years of experience)
• Demonstrated working knowledge of SQL query languages (T-SQL, PL-SQL) (at least 4 years of experience)
• Demonstrated working knowledge of DAX programming (at least 2 years of experience)
• Experience with ETL tools such as Microsoft Azure Data Factory, Data Bricks, and IBM InfoSphere DataStage, as well as data modeling methodologies (at least 2 years of experience)

Criteria Ratings:
Criteria 1: Technical Knowledge (50 points)

• Experience with T-SQL queries (at least 4 years)
• Experience with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Report Builder (at least 2 years)
• Experience with DAX coding and data modeling in Power BI (at least 2 years)
• Experience with ETL tools and data modeling methodologies (at least 2 years)

Criteria 2: Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills (30 points)

• Experience troubleshooting BI issues, database queries (T-SQL), and reports/dashboards
• Ability to analyze data, resolve data quality issues, and perform report validation
• Experience working within a team to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems

Criteria 3: Communication Skills (20 points)

• Oral and written communication skills, interpersonal, consultative, and facilitation skills
• Experience preparing documentation and communicating technical tasks to non-technical team members
