Senior Electrical Engineer Embedded Hardware (Medical Devices)
Job Location: Round Lake, IL, Remote is fine
job duration: 12 months
We are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design and development of electronic hardware for our infusion system products used in critical healthcare settings.
This role involves working on embedded systems, analog/digital circuits, and ensuring the design meets strict medical device standards.
You'll work closely with cross-functional teams (software, mechanical, manufacturing) to bring safe, reliable, and innovative products to market that help save lives
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop embedded hardware for medical devices (microcontroller, analog, and digital circuits).

Create and review circuit schematics, perform simulations, and support PCB layout.
Ensure designs meet performance, reliability, and safety standards.
Work with IEC 60601, UL, and FDA guidelines for regulatory compliance.
Lead testing activities, including EMI/EMC, validation, and verification.
Collaborate with mechanical and software teams to ensure full system integration.
Guide junior engineers or technicians as needed.
Support manufacturing transfer and ensure the design is robust and production-ready.
Write technical documents such as specifications, test protocols, and reports.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Prior experience in infusion pump domain is a plus.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
8 12 years of experience in hardware development (preferably in medical or other regulated industries).
Strong experience in embedded systems, analog/digital circuit design, and microcontroller-based systems.
Hands-on experience with PCB design tools (Altium Designer preferred).
Familiar with EMC/EMI testing, design verification, and regulatory compliance (IEC 60601, UL, etc.).
Experience using LabVIEW or other test automation tools is a plus.
Knowledge of FPGA-based designs and sensor systems is an advantage.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
