Job Overview:
- Consult on and participate in moderately complex initiatives within Specialty Software Engineering.
- Analyze and resolve moderately complex engineering challenges.
- Collaborate with client personnel to meet deliverables and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
- Maintain and develop RHEL scripts and schedules to support additional needs.
- Provide SAS consulting assistance to approximately 8000 end users.
- Support problem determination, best practices, and coding techniques.
- Work with various data sources, including DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, MS Access, MS Excel, Hadoop, Dremio, Starburst, ASCII, EBDCIC, and CLI interfaces.
Qualifications:
- 4 years of Specialty Software Engineering experience or equivalent through work, consulting, training, military experience, or education.
- Experience with SAS platform administration (SAS 9.x or Viya).
- Familiarity with UNIX/Linux command line and file systems.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Good communication and ticket-handling skills.
- Ability to follow documented procedures and escalate appropriately.
Preferred Skills:
- Exposure to SAS Grid, VA, or Viya environments.
- Experience with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira).
- Basic scripting knowledge (Shell, Python, etc.).
