DataStaff, Inc. is currently seeking an EHR Business Analyst for a long-term contract opportunity with one of our direct clients in Richmond, VA.
*This position is hybrid; some onsite work will be required
Job Description:
Looking for a highly motivated, proactive, analytical person with Electronic Health Record and Revenue Cycle Financial experience (patient accounting, billing, claims).
The EHR Analyst fulfills a set of general responsibilities during different project phases. The EHR Analyst will work closely with functional and business Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across Project Team WorkGroups.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary EHR resource dedicated to data collection and system design
- Actively participate in Site visits where design decisions are made and planned for implementation
- Coordinate solution-specific activities with the non-traveling team while ensuring best design is implemented
- Act as liaison for the client and Vendor activities while on-site and while homework deliverables are completed outside of the Site visits
- Implement solution design decisions, assuming responsibility for solution specific implementation
- Assist with policy and procedure development for designated department/function responsibilities
- Work with the departmental/functional team to develop and execute unit and system test scripts
- Develop procedures for system troubleshooting and training
- Follow requirement elicitation strategies to gather requirements from business stakeholders
- Represent requirements in process flow and other suitable pictorial diagrams as needed
- Facilitate development of integrated workflow
- Ensure user journey is clearly understood, replicated with newer processes and suggest enhancements when applicable
- Communicates Risk implications to Risk/Project Manager
- Assist with system validation and ensure Requirements are met
- Participates an Integration Testing and go-live team member
- Provide application systems assistance to the departmental/functional team, particularly in technology and system-related areas
- Investigate and help resolve application problems
- Support End User Training
- Provide ongoing post go-live solution support for the Health Districts
- Develop a basic knowledge of Discern Explorer, command languages, system operations and interface usage
- Coordinate and participate in the auditing of current database in preparation for a history upload
- Facilitate project conference calls, status meetings, planning sessions, and provide for meeting notes
- Support the Project manager in review of Project initiation steps such as RFPs, SOW, managing Agile tools, working closely with vendor team when applicable
- Utilizing system-based project management applications, collaboration applications, and MS Office applications; Visio, SharePoint, Teams, etc.
Required Skills:
- 3 Years - Experience working with EHR applications
- 7 Years - Demonstrates skill in project planning, requirements gathering, business analysis, business process mapping, procedural writing, process engineering
- 7 Years - Demonstrates skill in organization and time management, and presentation skills
- 7 Years - Knowledge of relational databases (SQL), system development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies, quality assurance techniques, and change management
- 7 Years - Knowledge and experience using multiple project management methodologies such as Waterfall, Iterative, and Agile
- 7 Years - Ability to work on different aspects of same application while envisioning an integrated workflow as a final output
- 7 Years - Utilize system-based project management applications, collaboration applications, and MS Office applications; Visio, SharePoint, Teams
- 7 Years - Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems or Computer Science, business, healthcare administration or equivalent experience
- 9 Years - Personal Attributes- Strong attention to detail is critical

- 9 Years - Personal Attributes- Highly self-motivated and directed

- 5 Years - Experience as Performing Analyst role
- 3 Years - Health IT, clinical, research, financial Experience
- 3 Years - Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication skills
- 3 Years - Effective communication skills and collaborative work style
- 3 Years - Background in healthcare information systems, data analysis, and familiarity with EHR implementation or optimization
- 3 Years - Able to manage, coordinate, and prioritize multiple activities concurrently with limited supervision and to adjust efficiently
- 3 Years - Knowledge of clinically driven revenue cycle
Desired Skills:
- 5 Years - Experience with Healthcare Information Systems
- 3 Years - Implementation experience with, Electronic Health Records / Electronic Medical Records, especially Cerner / Oracle Health and/or previous experience in an enterprise-wide SaaS implementation
- 3 Years - Experience or knowledge with the Commonwealth of Virginia Information Security Standard, SEC 501, Familiarity with HIPAA
- 3 Year - Experience as analyst for EHR system, Cerner Millennium / Oracle Health EHR preferred
- 3 Years - Proficiency in programming languages (SQL, Java, and CCL. Cerner Command Language-nice to have), database management, and software development lifecycle
