Job Details

We are seeking an experienced Senior Jira Platform Engineer to serve as the technical owner of the organization’s Jira SaaS for Government Cloud, responsible for its administration, configuration, and integration within the enterprise technology ecosystem.

o   This role plays a critical part in consolidating collaborative planning tools—transitioning from Azure DevOps (on-prem) and GitLab (on-prem) to Jira SaaS—and enabling scalable Agile and DevSecOps practices across the organization.

 o   The ideal candidate will be both technically proficient and strategically minded, with a strong understanding of Agile methodologies, DevSecOps workflows, and enterprise system integration.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Administer and optimize Jira SaaS to support enterprise Agile project management, including custom workflows, fields, automation, and dashboards.
  • Manage permissions, roles, and security settings to maintain governance, compliance, and efficient license utilization.
  • Design and implement integrations between Jira and core enterprise systems (e.g., GitLab, ServiceNow) using APIs, webhooks, and automation scripts.
  • Automate data flows and reporting to ensure traceability across planning, development, and release processes.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity and infrastructure teams to align configurations and integrations with enterprise security standards.
  • Partner with the Agile Transformation Office to align Jira configurations with Agile practices and enterprise delivery frameworks.
  • Provide user support and training, promoting consistent use of Jira across teams and improving Agile metrics and reporting accuracy.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, standards, and best practices for Jira administration and integration.

Position Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience administering and engineering Jira (self-hosted or SaaS).
  • Proven experience developing custom integrations with enterprise platforms (e.g., GitLab, ServiceNow).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or JavaScript, and REST API integration.
  • Strong understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and DevSecOps principles.
  • Experience leading enterprise migrations from Azure DevOps or comparable tools to Jira.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
