IPT is looking for great talented people to support the work at the Army Aviation and Missile Center (AvMC). AvMC is the Army’s focal point for providing research, development and engineering technology and services for aviation and missile platforms across the life cycle. AvMC’s mission is to “deliver collaborative and innovative aviation and missile capabilities for responsive and cost-effective research, development, and lifecycle engineering solutions” to equip the Warfighter with the best technology today and tomorrow.
 
 
Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily operations tasks across storage, network and computer systems to verify system integrity and availability
  • Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware/hypervisor/infrastructure upgrades and resource optimization
  • Implement monitoring for virtual infrastructure and servers, and respond to alarms in a timely manner, preventing client impact and performance degradation
  • Install, configure and manage VMware virtualization environment components
  • Ensure virtualization systems are compliant within required security standards
  • Develop and maintain O&S Standard Operating Procedures for VMware desktop virtualization environment
  • Develop and implement testing strategies and document results
  • Diagnoses and troubleshoot problems with the virtualization environment including Microsoft and Linux O/S
  • Establish and sustain virtual infrastructure; migrate selected mission applications from legacy environments to the latest virtual hardware/software platforms; and establish new mission applications into virtual hardware/software platforms
  • Compile and execute ready object code for the software on Government specified computers and operating systems
  • Configure Virtual Machine (VM) servers, create virtual desktops, and create VM views
  • Optimize VM components, and reduce lag time
  • Implement, support and sustain a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI)
  • Support activities including baseline management, zero client and thin client management, virtual application management, server management, user management, hardware management, and scalable deployment
Requirements:
  • BS/BA in related field
  • 10 years of related work experience
  • DoD 8570 Level II/III certification
  • Active Security clearance required
