Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead a mission-critical financial systems modernization project for a state government initiative. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing complex application development projects, especially in the financial sector and within public-sector environments. This role requires excellent leadership, coordination, and communication skills, along with a deep understanding of legacy system modernization and enterprise IT processes.

Key Qualifications:

  • 12 15 years of progressive experience as a Project Manager, managing full SDLC technology projects.
  • Demonstrated experience leading financial systems projects, including legacy-to-modern architecture transitions.
  • Strong command of project delivery frameworks (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) and SDLC best practices.
  • Solid understanding of data security, compliance requirements, and financial data governance within public or regulatory environments.
  • Proficiency with project and collaboration tools such as:
    • MS Project
    • JIRA
    • Confluence
    • Smartsheet
    • MS Teams / SharePoint
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to navigate complex organizational structures.
  • Active PMP Certification required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Management, or a related field.
