Job Description:

Parsons is hiring an Information Manager to support a military construction program in San Diego, California. Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Information Systems Solution / Data Architect to join our team! In this role you will get to use your extensive knowledge of Tableau, Tableau Prep Builder and data analytics tools to turn construction data and related processes into visual graphics and dashboards to drive performance to plan and support the delivery world class construction projects for the US Navy and US Marine Corps.

Required Skills/Education:
  • A minimum of five (5) years' experience in Tableau and Tableau Prep Builder(developer) and three (3) years' experience using Power BI or equivalent database application: importing various source data; creating graphic data representation and (dashboards) forms for user inputs; integrating data to create queries and reports; and exporting/publishing to interface with other programs (e.g. SharePoint).
  • Experience preparing construction related dashboards and data visualizations.
  • Using and working in spreadsheet and data automation software is highly desirable.
  • A degree in engineering from a four-year accredited Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) university or an architecture degree from a National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB) accredited university or MBA from an accredited program. Or degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Software Developer.
  • A minimum of five (5) years, or equivalent, experience performing tasks identified herein.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Building / creating data visualization dashboard using data information from several data sources in Tableau and Tableau Prep Builder.
  • Ensure stakeholders are receiving the support required, and are aware of program initiatives, interdependencies, risks and issues.
  • Conduct data analytics to monitor, analyze and synthesize numerous reports, timelines, trends and interdependencies for leadership and stakeholders to incorporate into decision-making process.
  • Identify critical external and internal decision and data input points and provide timely reminders/warnings to management.
  • Generate reports and documentation associated with project/program objectives.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:
  • Excellent executive level writing and brief preparation skills with the ability to effectively communicate ideas to senior leaders at all levels of authority.
  • Strong analytics skills with the ability to take raw data from multiple sources, perform analysis, and develop applicable reports outlining data quality and program performance.
  • Identify critical external and internal decision and data input points and provide timely reminders/warnings to management.
  • Strong skills in the use and application of PC software versions of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, Teams) and Adobe Acrobat Professional. Ability to adapt to new software used by government (i.e. eCMS, Tableau, eContracts, eProjects, etc.).
  • Maintain a strong historical knowledge of all that has transpired in the program to suggest courses of action because oftentimes the teams will not have time to review the entire history of the program and will need this individual to determine if a decision has been made in the past about a particular issue. Coordinate with the NAVFAC SW Performance Assessment Branch Head as necessary.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
  • Knowledge and use of Primavera P6 (version 17 is desired) scheduling software, along with an understanding of scheduling concepts.
  • Proactive in obtaining critical information from multiple stakeholders to effectively perform analysis that will inform mitigation strategies to improve performance across cost, schedule, safety and quality.
  • Understanding of quality control processes as they relate to construction projects is highly desirable.
  • Ability to prepare pertinent meeting agendas, coordinate meetings to assure attendance by critical stakeholders, maintain meeting order and scope and drive the development of action items and resolutions.

QUALIFICATIONS - HIGHLY DESIRABLE:
  • Prior Experience with Navfac.
  • Knowledge and use of Primavera P6 (version 17 is desired) scheduling software, along with an understanding of scheduling concepts.
