Job Title: Junior Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst / Tester
Location: Atlanta, GA (Hybrid)
Employment Type: Contract (Long-Term)
Role Overview
The Junior Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst / Tester is responsible for supporting the development and execution of quality assurance standards and testing activities for enterprise information technology applications. This role contributes to ensuring that software solutions meet business requirements, quality standards, and user expectations.
The QA Analyst will participate in the full test lifecycle, working within an Agile delivery environment and collaborating closely with business stakeholders, project managers, and technical delivery teams. While the intent is for long-term engagement, continuation of the role is subject to annual budget approvals.

Key Responsibilities
Test Planning & Execution
- Create, document, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts in accordance with established QA methodologies.
- Perform manual and/or automated testing of custom applications.
- Execute system, regression, performance, security, and post-deployment testing as required.
- Prepare and manage test data to support testing scenarios.
Agile & Collaboration
- Operate within an Agile delivery framework to support sprint-based testing activities.
- Work closely with business stakeholders, project teams, and technical delivery teams to understand requirements and expected outcomes.
- Participate in sprint planning, defect triage meetings, and application demonstrations.
User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Assist business subject matter experts and business analysts in developing UAT test scenarios.
- Prepare UAT documentation and instructions for end users.
- Facilitate and support UAT execution and validation activities.
- Ensure applications meet readiness criteria prior to UAT signoff.
Defect & Quality Management
- Identify, document, track, and retest software defects using defect management tools.
- Analyze test results and report issues, risks, and anomalies from an end-user perspective.
- Ensure testing activities are completed on schedule and escalate risks or bottlenecks as needed.
- Provide regular status updates to QA leadership.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
General Experience
- 3 5 years of experience in software testing or quality assurance roles
- Experience supporting mid-scale to large-scale system development projects
- Hands-on experience with test strategy development, test planning, and test execution
- Ability to review and analyze system artifacts such as business requirements, system requirements, and design documents
- Experience documenting:
- Test cases and test scripts
- Test results and defect reports
- Requirement Traceability Matrices (RTMs)
- Experience validating application readiness for UAT
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout the SDLC
Technical Skills
- Manual and/or automated testing
- System, regression, integration, performance, and security testing
- Familiarity with Agile and SDLC methodologies
- Experience with:
- GitHub
- ServiceNow
- Defect tracking and test management tools
- Experience testing GIS components is a plus
- Experience with mobile application testing is a plus
Specialized Experience
- Knowledge of quality assurance concepts, processes, and best practices
- Experience creating and executing manual test scripts
- Familiarity with defect lifecycle management
- Experience working in public sector or regulated environments is preferred
Preferred Certifications
- Certified Associate in Software Testing (CAST)
- Certified Test Engineer (CSTE)
- Certified Software Quality Analyst (CSQA)
- Certified Manager of Software Quality (CMSQ)
