Chief Estimator

Chief Estimator

Position Overview
The Chief Estimator will lead the estimating department, overseeing all aspects of project cost estimation for electrical construction projects. This role requires a strategic approach to manage and optimize the estimating process, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness in bids, while supporting the company's growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the estimating team to ensure accurate and timely project estimates.
  • Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare comprehensive estimates.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to gather pricing information.
  • Prepare and present cost estimates to management and clients, highlighting key components and assumptions.
  • Implement best practices in estimating processes and ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Assist in the development of the overall project budget and financial forecasting.
  • Provide mentorship and training to junior estimators and team members.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in electrical construction estimating, with a focus on commercial projects. (hospitals, schools etc)
  • Proven experience in managing estimating teams and processes.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and cost factors.
  • Familiarity with estimating software and tools.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Design build experience
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
