Job Details

Job Description:
We are seeking a Staff+ Engineer with strong product sense and frontend expertise to join as our Founding Product Engineer. In this role, you ll own the user experience, set the technical direction for the frontend, and work directly with the founders to bring our vision to life.

Responsibilities:

  • Architect and own the frontend from concept to deployment, making key technical decisions

  • Collaborate with founders and early customers to rapidly prototype and refine UX

  • Define best practices for UI components, testing, and CI/CD pipelines

  • Deliver world-class, developer-focused user experiences

  • Integrate AI tools and agents into the product

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience building complex, high-performance web applications

  • Proven ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced startup environment

  • Deep expertise with Typescript, React, Next.js, Playwright

  • Strong product and design sense with a focus on seamless UI/UX

  • Familiar with modern dev/AI tools (Cursor, Claude Code, Coderabbit, Warp, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with backend (Node.js, Go, Python, APIs, databases)

  • Prior work on or contributions to design systems

  • Passion for developer tools, productivity, or DevOps

  • Strong portfolio (GitHub, live projects)

  • Open-source contributions

Work Arrangement: Onsite San Mateo, CA
