Role Title: Copywriter

Duration: 6 months

Preferred Location: NYC or Chicago- onsite

The Copywriter is a unique role that will span across multiple disciplines in the marketing department. First, this person is a skilled writer in all forms of brand messaging, from headlines to blog articles, product descriptions to social copy, emails to video scripts, and beyond. Only very strong writers should apply for this role.

Beyond the writing skills, we re looking for a highly intelligent critical thinker with the curiosity and desire to work cross-functionally. You'll be asked to utilize a range of skills, transitioning frequently between projects that require strategic, creative, and analytical approaches.

Responsibilities

  • The Copywriter partnering with the Graphic Designer to form an ad agency style creative team.
  • Learn, manifest, and extend both brand's voices in all forms of communication.
  • Go from a brief with objectives, messaging priorities and deliverables to a final product that adheres to each brand's voice, clearly conveys the message, and accomplishes business goals.
  • Write effectively across a variety of media types, owned and paid, including email, social, blog, out-of-home, digital display, video, native, e-commerce, and everything else. SEO experience a plus.
  • Have a strong command of spelling and grammar, with the ability to proofread and edit brand communications before delivery.
  • Maintain a sharp understanding of the competitive landscape in non-alcoholic beverages and identify opportunities to further assert the position as the
  • category leader.
  • Know the customer profile inside and out. Review marketing initiatives to ensure that we re achieving breadth and depth of communication to high priority audiences at all stages of the customer journey.
  • Take calls with media salespeople and other potential partners, distilling pitches into a few salient points so team members can evaluate opportunities without being present on a call.
  • Collect and monitor KPIs across the media plan, keeping accurate records so department leadership can adjust budgets to optimize performance.
  • Flex as needed into other marketing projects with an openness to learn

Requirements:

  • Must have CPG and direct to consumer copywriting experience as well as B2B copywriting.
  • Would ideally like someone with a strong understanding of SEO implications when writing copy
  • Must have a portfolio or work samples to provide with resume
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience
  • Advertising or marketing agency experience preferred
  • Strong time management skills
  • Independent and self motivated. We expect work to be executed at a high level, but won t be looking over your shoulder in the process.
  • Strong listening and workplace communication skills
  • Ability to deliver clear and consistent communication to team members
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Dropbox, Slack. Willingness to learn new technologies.
  • High standard of attention to detail
