Description/Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of Enterprise Applications, the Business Systems Analyst supports various functional areas of the college s Banner ERP and provides maintenance, including third-party application integrations. The candidate will help Baltimore City Community College understand the data they collect by evaluating and improving the system. The candidate will assess the business needs, collaborate with stakeholders to determine the requirements, and design, implement, and improve systems that align with business objectives.

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Responsible for working with the Director of Enterprise Applications for the identification, design and implementation of improvements to the College s information systems and business processes.
  • Responsible for support and improvements to integration between the College s ERP and third-party applications.
  • Collaborates with external departments to aid in achieving operational objectives by studying business functions and promoting operational efficiencies using technology.
  • Participates in and sometimes lead data migration projects and systems integration projects.
  • Develop strategies to constantly improve the integrity of data in the ERP system. This includes the development of reports and statistics to monitor data integrity.
  • Provides tier-two support for ERP related issues.
  • Monitors and participates in relevant listservs, training opportunities, user groups, publications, and professional groups to maintain a strong knowledge of developments in the fields of Human Resources, Payroll, Finance, Student Management, Financial Aid and systems management and administration.
  • Provides training on application functionality to end-users.

Required Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor s degree in information systems, Computer Science or related field.

Experience:

  • Three (3) years of Banner ERP experience, which must include the following:
    • Ellucian Banner Enterprise Resource Planning applications in modules such as Admissions, Financial Aid, Students, Human Resources and Finance.
    • Leading teams and/or vendors for implementation and maintenance of software applications.
    • Experience with PL/SQL, SQL, Banner database for report writing and data analysis.
    • Software Development Life Cycle Process capturing software requirements, software maintenance and promoting process improvement.

Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours

  • Weekend hours may be required for configuration changes and end-user support.
  • Evening and weekend hours may required in case of production system outages.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One (1) year of the following experience
    • Argos report writing.
    • Ethos application integration.
