About the Role

We re looking for a Senior Technical Project Manager (SET Lead) to join our Interiors Engineering team supporting an innovative electric vehicle manufacturer. In this role, you ll lead multiple design programs for interior systems, manage engineering schedules, and coordinate with cross-functional teams across design, craftsmanship, supply chain, testing, and vehicle safety.

This position requires a strong technical background in automotive trim and interior systems, along with proven project management expertise. You ll oversee project Gantt charts, track deliverables, and help drive projects from concept to production launch ensuring execution excellence under tight timelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed Gantt charts for multiple concurrent design projects.
  • Track progress and drive collaboration to meet all key milestones.
  • Coordinate with testing teams and suppliers to ensure validation aligns with build schedules.
  • Use Jira and Confluence for engineering task tracking, documentation, and reporting.
  • Lead engineering change requests (ECRs) through the client s release systems.
  • Provide technical support and resolve mechanical system challenges during launch.
  • Support cost breakdown reviews, connecting suppliers and internal teams.
  • Occasionally travel to manufacturing plants in Arizona to support build activities.
  • Present program updates and status reports to executive leadership.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in technical project management within the automotive domain.
  • Strong knowledge of interior trim systems and manufacturing processes (injection molding, die casting, welding, assembly, etc.).
  • Proficient with Gantt charts, Jira, Confluence, and Tableau (or similar tools).
  • Bachelor s degree in Engineering or related field (or equivalent).
  • Excellent communication skills written, verbal, and interpersonal.
  • Proven ability to manage timing, cost, and technical program objectives.

Preferred Skills

  • PMP or CAPM certification.
  • Hands-on experience with CATIA / 3DX.
  • Experience integrating automations (Excel, VBA, Python, Tableau, Jira).
  • Background in vehicle development, product launch, and change management.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
