Junior to Mid-level Data Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in need of a Junior to Mid-level Data Engineer. This role will be onsite 5 days a week in San Diego, CA.

Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, and manage advanced pipelines for tracking, reporting, and performance analytics to support internal operations and client objectives
* Transform complex operational metrics into actionable insights that optimize inventory levels, improve margins, and maximize return on investment
* Create comprehensive dashboards, interactive reports, and executive visualizations that monitor key profitability and efficiency indicators
* Develop models, visualizations, and automated reporting for forecasting, optimization, and trend analysis to prevent stockouts and overstock situations
* Establish and maintain standards for data integrity and reconciliation across all operational and marketplace processes
* Guide team members on best practices in analytics and foster a high-performing, collaborative environment
* Identify process improvements in management workflows, stay current on industry trends, and clearly present complex concepts to diverse audiences

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience) with 5+ years in ecommerce analytics and data engineering
* Expertise in inventory systems, ERP integrations, financial reporting, and ecommerce KPIs; Skilled in creating dashboards and executive reports
* Strong background in financial analysis, margin optimization, and translating data into actionable insights
* Hands-on experience with inventory planning, forecasting tools, and automated reporting
* Proficient in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker) for impactful dashboards and presentations
* Advanced SQL and Python skills for scalable data solutions
* Experience with dbt, BigQuery, and modern cloud platforms (AWS/Azure)
* Solid knowledge of data modeling, ETL/ELT pipelines, and marketplace API integrations
* Familiar with Git, version control, and Agile practices
* Excellent communicator and mentor, adept at presenting insights to technical and non-technical audiences

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
