Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Ab Initio Developer to join our client in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Ab Initio ETL development, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work closely with business and technical stakeholders in an onsite environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain Ab Initio ETL applications for large-scale data processing.
Build and optimize GDE graphs, plans, and reusable components.
Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) from multiple source systems.
Work closely with business analysts and data architects to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability of data pipelines.
Conduct unit testing, debugging, and performance tuning of Ab Initio jobs.
Support production deployments, monitoring, and issue resolution.
Document technical designs, workflows, and operational procedures.
Participate in code reviews and follow best practices for data engineering.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Strong hands-on experience with Ab Initio (GDE, EME, Conduct>It).
Solid experience in ETL development and data warehousing concepts.
Strong SQL skills and experience working with large datasets.
Experience with Unix/Linux scripting.
Exposure to relational databases such as Oracle, Teradata, or DB2.
Strong understanding of data quality, data validation, and performance tuning.
Excellent communication skills must be able to interact with business users and cross-functional teams.
Ability to work onsite in Chicago, IL.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in financial services or banking domain.
Knowledge of data governance and compliance standards.
Experience with scheduling tools and batch processing.
Prior experience working with Discover or similar enterprise clients.
