Network / System Engineer

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Network / System Engineer with our client in the financial industry located in Charlotte, NC, Plano, TX and Pennington, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract position.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in design, development and implementation of systems engineering activities, to include OS technical support, systems programming, and data center capabilities
• Responsible for components of complex engineering and/or analytical tasks and activities
• Assist in establishment of input/output processes and working parameters for hardware compatibility and coordination of subsystems design and integration of total system
• Serve as a fully seasoned/proficient technical resource
• Provide tech knowledge and capabilities as team member and individual contributor
• Influence and direct activities of a team related to special initiatives or operations
• Lead end-to-end and administration duties for critical banking platforms, delivering middleware infrastructure for enterprise projects and regulatory initiatives
• Ensure production stability, platform remediation, patching and upgrades, mitigating and managing risk
• Middleware installation, configuration, risk mitigation and remediation, performance tuning and troubleshooting/triage as L3 production support
• Collaborate with customers (application teams and/or testing teams) on daily basis providing middleware advice, consultation, and support
• Create, maintain, and support the application deployment templates, serving as a J2EE architect and making recommendations on J2EE best practices in application development
• Design Middleware infrastructure and topology design for high availability and failover capability
• Provide technical consultation to other team members and their supported areas
• Communicate with business partners at an enterprise level
• Interface with internal customers and external vendors for consultation at various points of the software development life cycle (SDLC)
• Execute production changes for integrated and regulatory releases with precision
• Meet all policy, baseline, and standards along with business requirements

Requirements:

• 5+ years of systems engineering
• 3+ years of experience as a Java/ J2ee Middleware Engineering
• Experience with 1 or more of the following Middleware products: Appian, Software AG Web Methods
• Linux Operating System, Windows Operating System
• Java/Container Framework experience
• Experience with one of the following scripting languages: shell, python, PowerShell, Jython, perl
• Experience with one or more of the following Release Deploy Tools: Ansible, Ansible Tower, XLR, BitBucket, Celestial

Desired skills:

• 5+ years of experience of Middleware Engineering experience
• Experience with 1 or more of the following Middleware products: IIS, .NET Framework, WebSphere, WebLogic, Tomcat, Apache, Spring Boot, Jboss
• DevOps experience
• Other products: BMC Remedy, Harmon mDeliver, BMC Bladelogic Server Automation
• Understanding of Network infrastructure (HTTP/S, TCP/IP, TLS,DNS, Load-balancers, firewalls, proxies, B2B links)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong attention to detail

Pay range: $58.31 $66.31
