Job Details
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Specify, design, and maintain electrical equipment for all plant operations, including field installations.
- Develop maintenance and reliability strategies for electrical equipment.
- Provide internal guidance for the maintenance and reliability of electrical equipment. Perform electrical plant modifications (Switchgear and Relay upgrades, MCC installations, and UPS and substation battery systems).
- Provide technical support for the maintenance and operation of the facility s electrical systems and equipment (including low, medium, and high voltage electrical equipment).
- Investigate electrical equipment failures and provide recommendations to improve the system and equipment reliability.
- Develop electrical equipment specifications and reliability improvement plans for equipment.
- Provide technical support for front-end development, cost estimation, design, construction, and startup for projects and change packages.
- Assist in the development of maintenance and operating procedures for electrical equipment.
- Maintain an understanding of industry standards (API, NFPA, NEC, IEEE, ASME, ANSI, ASCE).
- Maintains knowledge of electrical area classifications and is familiar with acceptable methods of satisfying the requirements of equipment installations in hazardous areas
- Understands the requirements of process changes.
QUALIFICATIONS
- B.S. or higher Degree in Electrical Engineering with experienced focus in industrial Electrical Power Systems.
- Minimum of 3 years of Electrical Power experience.
- Ability to work with a wide variety of engineering personnel (design, maintenance, management, etc.).
- Basic understanding of industrial electrical equipment, motors, motor starters, breakers, relay protection devices, transformers, and switchgear.
- Working experience in petrochemical production units and awareness of safety and environmental requirements.
