Job Overview: (EST Candidates only)

Our company is seeking an experienced OSP Design Engineer to join our team. The OSP Engineer will be responsible for designing and planning the outside plant (OSP) facilities and related infrastructure necessary to support telecommunications services to our clients.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Design OSP facilities including conduit systems, manholes, handholes, pedestals, aerial and buried cable systems, and associated infrastructure such as power and grounding.
  • Prepare detailed design drawings and specifications for OSP construction projects using design software including ARAMIS, IQGEO, WALDO, ESRI, and AutoCAD.
  • Have strong knowledge of ATT design processes and administrative system experience including an ATT UID and list of ATT systems trained and proficient in.
  • Coordinate with other internal departments to ensure that OSP designs are compliant with applicable regulations and industry standards.
  • Obtain required permits and approvals for OSP construction projects from municipalities, utilities, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Perform field engineering work to verify and locate existing OSP infrastructure and to identify potential construction obstacles.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Associate Degree in Technology or Engineering with an emphasis in Electrical, Civil or Telecommunications is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure including copper and fiber optic cabling systems for Light-GIG/Fiber over-build projects.
  • Required experience using ARAMIS, IQGEO, ESRI, WALDO and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to read and interpret Civil Design Drawings and schematics.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Has an ATT UID and has used security protocol to access internal ATT databases to design projects.
