Role: Senior Technology Product/Programme Manager
Location: New York
Overview:
This position will be part of US Equity Derivatives team which is part of the company's Global Banking and Markets Division. The US Equity Derivatives Tech group is a small team based in New York that is responsible for building and supporting key applications that service the Structured Products Desks (US and Global).

This is a significant undertaking and high profile in nature and as such we are looking for a senior Technologist with hands-on experience managing Structured Equity Derivatives projects and designing and delivering end to end solutions.
The organization is rapidly transforming both its people structure and ways of working to better align with our business and increase the speed and quality of delivery. We are adopting a DevOps model driving agile delivery and building a strong product ownership group.
Purpose of the job:
The successful candidate undertaking this role will join the Structured Equity Derivatives team as a senior programme lead running a global delivery team to design, develop, test, release and support the Equity Derivatives Trading Desk.
This role is business-facing and places a high degree of emphasis on service delivery, operations and relationship management. This will require engagement with internal IT teams and business units to ensure stakeholders are receiving excellent levels of application based service.
The Technology Programme Management job is accountable for delivery of Technology Programmes, Business Change Programme, or delivery of critical Technology-only programmes within a Technology Portfolio.
This Job manages change initiation, design and delivery and is accountable for successful delivery of the programme and ensuring benefits realisation.
This job will be based within Equity Derivatives Technology and support the department globally.
Responsible for:
This role will carry out some or all of the following activities:
* Excellent analysis, design and development skills. Able to lead a team in an Agile environment within a Dev-Ops framework
* Manage programme strategy and the programme approach across a series of projects or component activities, building stakeholder buy-in around plans, commitments and changes
* Assist business stakeholders with the decomposition of complex business requirements into Epics and User Stories that can be delivered by Tech teams via respective backlogs with minimum cross product co-ordination.
* Delivery, governance & reporting to stakeholders including the Product owner in the business, head of a service line or Product within Technology
* Drive the use of Agile methodologies within Technology teams (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, Lean) in line with corresponding transformation frameworks at the bank
* Ensure Technology programmes align to strategies and contribute to towards achieving strategic aims
* Manage the development and promotion of the technology portfolio and project management practices
* Manage the reporting of progress, issues, dependencies and risks to committees and make recommendations to influence decision making in order to maintain progress towards delivery and benefits realisation
Major challenges:
The main challenge is to be able to operate in a highly dynamic and pressurised environment where high-quality, innovative software solutions are needed rapidly to support an ever-evolving business.
Additionally, as a global business with trading desks in four main locations and with the IT team also distributed in a number of regions, excellent communication skills and the ability to cooperate well in a team are essential.
Essential candidate experience:
* The candidate must have a rich background in Investment Banking with a particular focus on Structured Equity Derivatives.
* Excellent analysis, design and development skills. Able to lead a team in an Agile environment within a Dev-Ops framework.
* Able to drive a team forward but also be able to roll up his or her sleeves and drive the programme forwards.
* Ability to learn fast and rapidly assimilate new business requirements. Help to establish a culture of continuous improvement.
* Organized, self-starter, highly motivated team player.
Ideal candidate experience:
* 10+ years of experience in Investment Banking with strong understanding/relevant experience of Prime Brokerage.
* Able to converse with key business stakeholders around Derivatives business concepts.
* Experience writing functional specifications
* Experience with SQL
* Enterprise application integration patterns.
