Title: Principal Security Engineer
Location: Remote/ Beverly Hills
Duration: Full-time
Compensation: 230,000-240,000

Skillset / Experience:
What You Will Be Doing
Technical Leadership and Architecture
  • Drive the implementation of security architecture and reusable components across development teams, partnering with the Sr. Director of Security to align with strategic objectives.
  • Develop and maintain custom security tools and automation frameworks that enhance security throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Design scalable solutions for complex security challenges that span multiple systems.
Security Architecture and Implementation
  • Lead the technical implementation of shift-left security practices and zero trust principles through hands-on engineering work.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive security testing frameworks and automated scanning solutions that integrate seamlessly with development workflows.
  • Build and implement security monitoring and detection systems that protect our platform at scale.
Technical Analysis and Research
  • Conduct deep-dive technical analysis of security vulnerabilities and architectural patterns to provide detailed remediation guidance.
  • Research emerging threats and attack vectors relevant to our technology stack, developing proof-of-concept implementations for new security controls that address identified risks.
Threat Modeling
  • Develop and mature threat modeling practices across development teams.
  • Train stakeholders in threat modeling techniques and integrate these practices into the development lifecycle.
Security Consultation Support
  • Provide expert technical guidance across development teams in partnership with the Sr. Director, supporting threat modeling initiatives and leading technical security reviews.
  • Create practical security documentation and implementation guides that enable development teams to build secure systems from the ground up.

What You Need to Know
(Technical Skills / Competencies)
  • 10+ years of experience in information security, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • In-depth understanding of modern security practices, including ShiftLeft, Zero-Trust, and threat modeling
  • Proven track record of building and leading high-performing security teams
  • Strong background in application security, cloud security, and secure software development practices
  • Experience with purple team operations and offensive security techniques
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, etc.) preferred
