Role Purpose

To design and deliver architectural solutions that align with business objectives, ensuring scalability, reliability, and compliance. The Solution Architect acts as a bridge between business and technology, providing technical leadership and guiding delivery teams through design-to-deployment phases.

Skills Required

Technical Expertise

  • Core Technologies:
    • Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, Hibernate, REST, JSON, ActiveMQ.
    • Microservices architecture, API gateways, caching strategies.
  • Cloud & Infrastructure:
    • AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform; Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM templates).
    • Containers & Orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes.
  • DevOps & CI/CD:
    • Jenkins, Git, automated pipelines, observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana).
  • Integration & Security:
    • SOA principles, secure coding, OAuth2/OpenID Connect, compliance frameworks.

Leadership & Consulting

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and mentor developers.
  • Strategic thinking with problem-solving and decision-making under pressure.

Domain Knowledge

  • Aviation systems (Crew Scheduling, Flight Ops) preferred for AA TOPS context.
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance and safety standards.

Experience

  • 10 15+ years in technology projects; 5+ years in architecture roles.
  • Proven track record in large-scale enterprise solutions and cloud-native modernization.

Certifications (Preferred)

  • AWS/Azure Solution Architect.
  • SAFe Agilist or SPC for scaled agile delivery.
  • TOGAF or equivalent architecture frameworks.
