About UW-IT:

UW Information Technology (UW-IT) is the central IT organization for the University of Washington, providing mission-critical services and support to all three campuses, UW Medicine, and research initiatives worldwide. We are a strategic partner in advancing UW's teaching, learning, and discovery goals.

Our Workday Operations team plays a key role in ensuring the University's cloud-based Workday platform meets the evolving needs of faculty, staff, and student workers.

About the Role:

We're seeking a Software Engineer to support Tier 3 Application Management within Workday Finance, specifically in the Procurement and Supply Chain areas. This role is hands-on and collaborative-ideal for someone who enjoys digging into complex issues, making meaningful system improvements, and working with business partners to support one of the most vital platforms at the University.

What You'll Do:

Configure and maintain Workday Finance modules (Procurement, Supply Chain, Accounts Payable, Supplier Contracts)

Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues as Tier 3 support

Analyze and enhance business processes and implement system updates

Collaborate with integration and reporting teams to ensure end-to-end functionality

Support testing activities (manual and automated) and manage release updates

Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Contribute to documentation, training, and knowledge-sharing efforts

What You Bring:

3+ years of experience with enterprise SaaS platforms (Workday Finance preferred)

Experience configuring and supporting Finance systems (Procurement, Supply Chain, AP, or Supplier Contracts)

Strong skills in system troubleshooting, documentation, and testing (including automated tools like Kainos)

Excellent written and verbal communication

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, customer-oriented environment

Desired:

Experience working in Agile (Scrum or Kanban) environments

Familiarity with higher education or shared services organizations

Understanding of Workday business processes and interdependencies

Experience with knowledge base and case management tools
