System Controls Engineer

Description

• Providing the engineering and programming (PLC, HMI, drives, and instrumentation) requirements to maintain and satisfy research and development project requirements
• Assisting in the development, test and performance of a SCADA network and all other automation systems to ensure proper operation; making corrections and or repairs where required
• Working with others in a cooperative team to coordinate work and see projects through from conception to commissioning; such teams may include other engineers, technicians, operators, and/or managers
• Conducting control system programming and configuration including understanding particular configuration segments of the overall system
• Conducting system software programming and configuration to include operator interfaces
• Traveling to an off-site location and/or accepts client site assignments when required

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or a related engineering discipline and 2-5 years of relevant experience in PLC, HMI, or SCADA design, configuration, and programming
• DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to use a computer and computer software programs, such as AutoCAD and Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, Visio
• Production and basic engineering tasks
• Experience supporting multidisciplinary teams on control system testing, equipment commissioning, and field testing

Desired Skills

• Experience configuring and programing Allen Bradley, Schneider Electric, and/or Siemens PLCs
• Experience using software such as SIMATIC Step7, SIMATIC S7-PLCSIM, EcoStruxure, Studio 5000, Matlab and Python
• Experience with mechanical & electrical control systems integration

SRC IS A CONTRACTOR FOR THE U.S. GOVERNMENT, THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE U.S. CITIZENSHIP AS WELL AS, A U.S. GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE SECRET LEVEL
