Location: Addison, TX | Hybrid (2 days/week onsite)

Job Summary
My Client is seeking a Mid to Senior-level Data Engineer with strong, hands-on experience in building and maintaining data pipelines, ETL/ELT development, and end-to-end ingestion processes. This role is highly technical and requires expertise in designing, transforming, and managing data across multiple systems. Unlike business analysis or reporting-focused positions, this role emphasizes data engineering fundamentals and execution.

Responsibilities

  • Profile and analyze data from multiple sources and data types
  • Design, build, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest and load data into the Data Lake and/or Data Warehouse
  • Monitor and troubleshoot pipeline performance, ensuring schedules and processes run smoothly
  • Implement corrective actions for data quality issues
  • Build and maintain data transformations and standardized reporting objects at the database layer
  • Follow best practices for development, QA, deployment, and source code management
  • Document processes, definitions, and metrics, and provide walk-throughs to stakeholders
  • Collaborate with developers, business users, and IT partners across onshore and offshore teams
  • Support agile delivery methodology by tracking and communicating deliverable progress
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve data processes and system performance
  • Develop strong knowledge of data relationships, underlying business rules, and industry domain

Team Dynamics & Process
  • Hybrid schedule expected at approximately two days per week in office (Addison, TX)
  • Manager views onsite presence as a differentiator, ensuring candidates are fully committed and engaged
  • Recruiting process may include direct submittals, technical vetting, and custom technical exercises focused on pipeline and data engineering skills

Qualifications
  • 4+ years working as a Data Engineer (not limited to analysis or reporting)
  • Strong SQL expertise, including building objects (tables, stored procedures, views) in SQL Server or other relational databases
  • 4+ years building data pipelines using ETL/ELT tools such as Azure Data Factory (ADF), Airbyte, Informatica, etc.
  • Proven track record of hands-on data pipeline development and end-to-end ingestion
  • Experience with healthcare or financial data preferred
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for data quality and pipeline issues
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
  • Bachelor's degree or higher

Preferred Experience
  • Exposure to cloud data platforms such as Snowflake
  • Experience with modern ELT tools such as DBT
