Microsoft Cloud and Network Security Specialist

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce is working with a financial software company in finding a Microsoft Cloud and Network Security Specialist to join their team. This position is full time, direct hire and hybrid in the DC metropolitan area. The role is responsible for implementing, managing, and monitoring security measures to protect cloud systems and infrastructure, with a focus on Microsoft technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
* Implement security best practices using NIST Cybersecurity Framework and CIS Controls
* Deploy and manage Microsoft Defender tools, Microsoft Purview, Entra, Intune, and Azure Sentinel
* Conduct security assessments and manage vulnerabilities using Qualys and Jira
* Collaborate with Cloud Architects on GitHub Advanced Security and code vulnerability resolution
* Monitor and respond to security threats using threat-hunting techniques
* Review and assess security configurations and recommend improvements
* Document security processes, identify gaps, and advise on compliance and risk
* Provide guidance on cloud security architecture and integration
* Lead root cause analysis and proactive service delivery
* Support business continuity and disaster recovery planning
* Act as SME for Microsoft cloud security solutions and provide staff training
* Stay current with emerging technologies and security trends

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in IT or related field, or equivalent certifications with 8+ years of experience
* Experience with scripting (e.g., PowerShell) and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA)
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft security technologies (Azure, O365, AD)
* Familiarity with frameworks like ISO, MITRE ATT&CK, CMMC, OWASP
* Excellent communication, problem-solving, and change management skills
* Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Security, CISSP, CEH) are a plus

* Must be able to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment
* Physical demands are minimal and typical of an office setting

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
