PROGRAM OVERVIEW:

The Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS) IT team is seeking a skilled and motivated Quality Assurance (QA) to support the Local Public Health Data Solution implementation project. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and quality of the product. The QA Analyst will collaborate with developers, business analysts, and the quality assurance manager to validate system functionality, safeguard data integrity, track issues, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the applications.

DETAILED LIST OF JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:
  • Develop, execute, and document detailed test plans and test cases for new and existing software features.
  • Perform functional, integration, regression and user acceptance testing across multiple work streams with a focus on data integrity and validation.
  • Test configurations, workflows, and integrations with external data sources.
  • Test across roles and permissions to validate privacy and security.
  • Log, track, and manage defects using Zephyr and Jira, ensuring timely resolution and clear communication with development teams.
  • Create and maintain clear, comprehensive testing documentation and records.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and ensure testing activities align with project goals and timelines.
  • Provide actionable feedback to improve product usability, performance, and reliability.
  • Stay current with QA best practices, tools, and emerging testing approaches, including opportunities for test automation.


Qualifications

Required:
  • 2 - 4 years of professional experience in software quality assurance or testing (or equivalent training/education).
  • Demonstrated experience in test planning, execution, and defect management.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify inconsistencies and edge cases.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting while maintaining strong collaboration with team members.
  • Desire and capacity to learn new systems, tools, and processes quickly.

Preferred:
  • Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
  • Experience testing web-based applications and APIs.
  • Experience with data validation testing across integrated systems.
  • Experience with Salesforce testing (configuration, workflows, and data integrations)
  • Hands-on experience using Zephyr and Jira for test management and defect tracking.
  • Familiarity with public health, healthcare, or government IT projects

Work Environment:
  • Full-time hybrid position combining on-site collaboration with remote work (specific schedule to be determined)
  • Requires reliable internet connection and ability to participate in virtual meetings.
  • Attendance at periodic in-person meetings and workshops required.
