Job Title: Data & Analytics Application Administrator
Location: San Francisco, Chicago, New York, or Scottsdale
Overall Purpose:
The Data & Analytics Application Administrator is responsible for the administration, support, and optimization of data and analytics applications used across the organization. This role serves as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned applications, ensuring they remain current, secure, and aligned with business needs while enabling users to maximize the value of the platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary administrator and owner of assigned data and analytics applications.
Provide expert-level support, troubleshoot issues, and ensure timely resolution or escalation to systems teams or vendors.
Architect, configure, and integrate applications to meet business requirements and optimize workflows.
Establish and enforce best practices for application administration, security, and performance monitoring.
Lead automation initiatives using scripts and other tools to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
Implement solutions to address business or customer needs and recommend third-party applications when appropriate.
Analyze and resolve application incidents, collaborating with vendors as needed.
Evaluate existing processes to identify inefficiencies and implement improvements.
Work with stakeholders to define and monitor key metrics, KPIs, and SLAs.
Oversee installation and validation of vendor-provided upgrades and patches.
Monitor licensing usage and manage procurement requests, ensuring budget compliance.
Process configuration change requests and maintain the application roadmap in alignment with leadership priorities.
Manage projects related to application enhancements, including requirements gathering, configuration, testing, documentation, and training.
Develop and maintain user documentation, policies, and procedures.
Promote user adoption through training and best practice guidance.
Maintain vendor relationships to resolve issues and influence future product functionality.
Support the company s commitment to system and data integrity, security, and confidentiality.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Business, Computer Science, Communications, or related field.
4+ years of experience as an application administrator in an enterprise environment.
Hands-on experience with data-focused applications such as Tableau, Business Objects, or Infoburst.
Familiarity with database systems such as MSSQL and Hadoop.
Experience deploying and managing applications on cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to engage effectively at all organizational levels.
Proficiency with office productivity tools (Windows OS, MS Office, Visio).
Familiarity with collaboration and workflow tools (JIRA, Confluence, ServiceNow, Workday).
Proven ability to support and administer vendor-provided applications.
Demonstrated capability to coach, mentor, and guide users.
Self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Must successfully pass background check and drug screening.
