Requirements

  • Proven experience (8+ years) architecting and building enterprise GIS systems or spatial data platforms.
  • Deep understanding of PostgreSQL and PostGIS, including spatial indexing, performance tuning, and advanced queries.
  • Experience designing and implementing multi-tenant or customer-segregated data models.
  • Familiarity with GIS data formats (Shapefiles, GeoJSON, GML, KML, etc.) and data transformation workflows.
  • Solid experience with QGIS or similar GIS desktop tools; understanding of how these tools interface with spatial databases.
  • Strong understanding of spatial reference systems, projections, and coordinate transformations.
  • Working knowledge of ETL processes for GIS data acquisition from public agencies or government portals.
  • Experience integrating GIS data with APIs, web-based viewers, or enterprise systems.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of modern GIS frameworks or libraries (e.g., GeoServer, MapServer, GDAL/OGR, FME).
  • Familiarity with cloud-native architectures (e.g., AWS/Google Cloud Platform-based spatial data storage or serverless functions).
  • Experience with open-source GIS stack deployments.
  • Familiarity with regulatory or industry-specific standards in utilities or municipal infrastructure GIS systems.
