Role: Java Technical Lead
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
Duration: 6+ months (Contract)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Java Technical Lead with 10+ years of experience in Java development and leadership. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java/Spring Boot/API/Microservices and experience working in an Agile environment. This role requires hands-on technical leadership, mentoring developers, and ensuring successful delivery of enterprise-grade applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Leadership: Guide a team of developers, review code, enforce best practices, and mentor team members.

  • Design & Development: Architect, design, and implement scalable Java-based applications using Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and Microservices.

  • Cloud Integration: Deploy and manage applications on AWS/Azure cloud platforms.

  • Project Management: Support project planning, effort estimation, and release cycles.

  • Collaboration: Work with business analysts, project managers, and cross-functional teams to ensure delivery goals are met.

  • Problem Solving: Troubleshoot technical challenges, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective solutions.

  • Knowledge Sharing: Stay updated with the latest Java technologies and frameworks, and mentor the team in adopting best practices.

Required Skills & Experience:
  • 10+ years of professional Java development experience.

  • Strong expertise in Java EE, Spring, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and Microservices.

  • Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and design patterns.

  • Database development experience with SQL (and exposure to NoSQL preferred).

  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) for deployment and management.

  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and manage development teams.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

  • Experience working in Agile/DevOps environments.
