As a member of the FBM Reentry Interfaces team, you will work as liaison between a diverse array of teams from several technical disciplines both within and outside of Lockheed Martin. Your role is to facilitate and coordinate technical discussions regarding translation of the system requirements and architecture into a set of agreements on critical design parameters for each party to meet in order to fulfill customer needs. You will be expected to evaluate, communicate, document, and maintain the agreed upon design solution between teams.

The Reentry Systems Engineer will focus on the physical interfaces between systems and subsystems in a highly complex system-of-systems environment. Physical interfaces encompass the mechanical fit, compatibility, and dynamic interoperability of physical systems. You will work both independently and as part of an integrated team to execute detailed action plans to accomplish major efforts involving multiple teams.

The work schedule is a standard 9/80, working 9 hours per day Monday through Thursday, 8 hours one Friday and off the next. Hours are flexible, but you will be expected to be in the office during core hours between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM, Tuesday through Thursday. Due to the sensitive nature of the program, you will be required to spend much of your time in a closed area. Travel is also required, at a typical rate typically less than 10%, but may peak to around 25% during periods of major activity.

Typical experience is 5+ years of professional experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years with a MS degree

Basic Qualifications

Familiar with 3D parametric computer aided design (CAD) modeling software; Creo or similar
Ability to articulate detailed technical and programmatic issues to subordinates, peers, management and customers
Active Secret Security clearance; ship is required

Desired skills

Demonstrated ability to learn
Existing Top Secret Clearance with T5 investigation and/or Q clearance a huge plus
Demonstrated ability to work within and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams
Experience with design, integration and/or test of mechanical systems
Experience with PTC Creo to create physical interface models
Ability to create and manage Interface Control Documentation (ICD)
Ability to create and manage Interface Configuration Control Documentation (ICCD)
Excellent written and verbal communication

Ability to work remotely

Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $85,500 - $150,765. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.

Premium Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $98,300 - $170,315. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
