Insurance clientis looking for an experienced developer. The minimum is 5 years of experience. This experienced developer would likely help with multiple tracks.
Must Have Skills:
Java, Kafka, Software development, Openshift, SQL
The resource would need to have excellent communication, mentoring skills, and knowledge transfer to pas along from other industries/experiences. Claims Systems supports anything related to the business line Claims support which is critical for there customer service and experience outcomes.
They are currently working on upgrading to a new version of Guidewire, moving classic Claims from different business lines into the new modernized systems. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to go full time an find a home long term.
Seeking a motivated individual to join the IT Division as an experienced Modern Technology Software Developer. Responsibilities include developing, maintaining, and supporting software applications for new and existing systems. The position requires the person to:
Define, develop, test, analyze, and maintain new and pre-existing software programs and applications.
Actively participate in code/design reviews and brainstorming sessions.
Develop program and system documentation.
Share technical knowledge and experience with others through informal and formal mentorship.
Analyze and fix software errors in a timely and accurate fashion.
Consult with users, architects, project leaders, and management to resolve problems and suggest alternatives.
Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, a related field, or equivalent experience is required.
Minimum of 5 years of development experience is strongly preferred.
Minimum of 5 years experience with Kafka and Java
Experience with Java, Kotlin, Kafka and a modern IDE is strongly preferred.
Experience with OpenShift, and SQL
Experience with source control management software is a plus.
Enthusiasm for driving improvement by finding and implementing solutions to new challenges.
Must be able to learn and effectively use tools and software development techniques as practiced, acquired, or adopted within the IT Division.

*Good with 4 weeks of training onsite four days per week and one day remote. Post training, would be in 2 days per week. Grand Rapids is the first preference and Lansing would be the second.*

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.
