Medix is currently seeking a Sr. Cyber Security Administrator for a full-time career opportunity with one of our top Healthcare clients in Riverside County.


This is a permanent, full-time position with incredible growth opportunities and benefits. Work location is remote; however, candidates must reside in Southern California, and must be able to work on-site in Palm Springs from time to time (travel expenses not covered)


We are seeking individuals who have a foundational background in enterprise Network / Systems Administration, who also have 3 years on top of that in a formalized Cyber Security role.





RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Working in a team environment as the Cyber Security Administrator for the enterprise health system's IT Infrastructure, spanning 2 data center locations

  • Deploying, configuring, and maintaining security devices such as firewalls, antivirus, intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDS, IPA), virtual private networks (VPNs), and SIEM platforms.

  • Leading a HITRUST Security Audit (candidates will need to have formal experience with IT Compliance for audits, and familiarity with common Risk Management Frameworks such as NIST 800-53, ISO 2700012, etc.

  • This individual will be providing security guidance on best practices, configurations, and to help drive security governance with teams

  • Monitoring with IDS/IPS and SIEM platforms to detect potential attacks as they occur

  • Validating controls in business systems. This includes providing a full analysis of previous malicious attacks, using multiple infrastructure and security systems to look for suspicious or anomalous activities

  • Providing operational support across the organization's enterprise VM network -consisting ov 250+ virtual machines (VMware, vCenter, vSphere)

  • Building and managing new Windows servers to specifications from the business units

  • Providing leadership in IT Infrastructure modernization projects - such as migration to Microsoft 365, Entra AD, and Teams.

  • Deploying, configuring and maintaining security devices such as firewalls, antivirus, SIEM and IDS/IPS platforms, and virtual private networks (VPNs)

  • Performing regular security audits, risk and vulnerability assessments and presenting findings to leadership

  • Contributing to the overall success of an IT Security audit by hardening the IT Infrastructure to HITRUST standards

  • Contributing to cybersecurity awareness, security best practices and security policies


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS



  • Must reside in the State of California

  • Must be able to be on-site occasionally in Palm Springs

  • CISSP, CISA or CISM Certified - required

  • Vulnerability Scanning Tools, IDS, IPS

  • Risk Management Frameworks - NIST, ISO HIPAA, HITRUST, etc.

  • 7-10+ years professional experience - required

  • Foundational background in enterprise Windows Serve infrastructure (Windows Server and VMware)

  • Cisco LAN/WAN Networking

  • VPN

  • VLANS
