Our Platform Architecture team here at Apple features a collaborative and hands-on environment that cultivates engineering excellence, creativity, and innovation! Join this team, and you'll collaborate with engineers across Apple to develop frameworks and toolchains for hardware accelerators. In this highly visible role, you will be working with cross functional teams in Hardware Technology and Software Engineering to develop key technologies for future Apple products.

Description In this role, you will be developing frameworks and toolchains for hardware accelerators including custom RISC-V ISA and CPU designs and custom co-processors, with the goal to assist and guide architecture definitions. You will collaborate with multiple teams exploring new architectures, algorithms, compiler optimizations, and power/performance/area tradeoffs for hardware implementations. Responsibilities will include: - Develop automation toolchains for efficient development of accelerators - Develop architectural and performance simulators - Work with cross-functional team to define and architect application specific accelerators

Minimum Qualifications
  • BS degree
  • Coding skills including C++, Python and/or Verilog
  • Computer architecture knowledge
  • Design automation knowledge

Preferred Qualifications
  • MS or PhD degree or 3+ years of experience
  • Experience building hardware simulators and models
  • Understanding of front-end VLSI development flow
  • Knowledge of compiler LLVM and tablegen
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with teammates and partners
  • Ability to innovate
  • Ability to drive results on a tight schedule

Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
