Job Details

Title: QA Engineer 
Location: Hybrid in Columbia, SC (onsite - Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and as needed)
Contract: W2 only, 10-month contract with potential for extension or full-time conversion 
Pay: $50/hour + optional medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete administrative and lead activities to support management, including attending customer sessions, planning projects, preparing reports, and developing processes.
  • Manage testing projects, ensuring proper documentation, reporting, and customer communication; mentor testing staff.
  • Perform quality checks across IT functions, defining and analyzing quality metrics such as defect counts and test results, and making operational improvement recommendations.
  • Develop and utilize test cases, scripts, and diagrams to ensure functional connection between applications.
  • Track quality assurance metrics and provide support for multiple clients, including onsite support as needed.
  • Make recommendations to clients for testing activity improvements.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of IT experience, including experience developing test plans and/or test matrices.
  • Knowledge of JAVA, Websphere, Windows, and middleware platforms.
  • Proficiency with DB2, SQL, Oracle, IMS, and VSAM.
  • Experience with whitebox testing, integration testing, and ServiceNow Automated Test Framework (ATF).
  • Excellent project planning, organization, and management skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and understanding of data processing terminology, operations, and architecture.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document complex problems.
  • Ability to write complex test cases and scripts, understand functional connections between applications, and utilize test requirements, specifications, and diagrams.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience testing web applications.
  • Knowledge of Selenium, Puppeteer, and Appium.
  • Experience with static testing and 508 compliance testing utilizing JAWS software.
  • Strong analysis skills, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, multi-platform environment requiring 24/7 response.
