Description

SAIC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Systems Engineer Manager for our Counter-Unmanned Systems (C-UXS) and Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) Systems in Bedford, IN.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Systems Engineer Manager will lead the technical development, integration, and operational deployment of advanced C-UXS and ISR technologies. This role requires a visionary leader with extensive expertise in systems engineering, project management, and innovation to ensure the delivery of high-quality and effective solutions to combat manned and unmanned threats.

JOB RESPONSIBILITES:
  • Provide strategic direction and technical leadership for the development and deployment of C-UXS and ISR systems
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) in C-UXS, swarm and counter-swarm T&E, and advanced munitions development for the Department of Defense (DoD)
  • Oversee the design, integration, testing, and validation of technologies
  • Lead cross-functional engineering teams to ensure cohesive and efficient project execution
  • Manage multiple projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets
  • Communicate project status, risks, and mitigation plans to senior management and stakeholders
  • Ensure that all C-UXS and ISR systems meet the highest standards of performance, reliability, and safety
  • Lead the development and implementation of system engineering processes and best practices
  • Oversee the creation of technical documentation, including system requirements, design specifications, and test plans
  • Drive innovation in technologies through research and development initiatives
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in unmanned systems and related technologies
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the engineering team
  • Collaborate with government agencies, customers, and other stakeholders to understand their requirements and ensure the delivered solutions meet their needs
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for C-UXS and ISR projects
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among engineering teams, program managers, and other departments

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering and 15 or more years of experience in systems engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Extensive experience with C-UXS technologies, including detection, tracking, identification, and mitigation
  • Proven track record of managing complex engineering projects from concept to deployment
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and practices
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to think strategically and drive innovation
  • Proficiency in project management tools and techniques
  • Must possess a minimum of a Secret clearance
