The Senior Data Consultant will be responsible for supporting the data requirement gathering, modeling, and visualizations of various departments for our clients. We are looking for a self-motivated individual with a high capacity to learn and execute. The job functions include, but are not limited to, supporting complex data pipelines, performing data modeling, understanding business requirements, and translating them into technical solutions.

Main Responsibilities

  • Will be part of a multi-skilled BI Team working closely with the data engineers.
  • Participate & lead requirements gathering, solution design and customer workshops.
  • Perform data analysis, troubleshooting, and defining metrics, measures, and KPIs.
  • Develop and maintain data standards, processes and templates as required to support data-intensive applications analysis and self-service BI models.
  • Perform conceptual/logical/physical dimensional data modelling and provide guidance/consultation on schema designs and schema evolution for enhancements/updates.
  • Will work closely with peers and technology partners to maintain high level of technology enablement.
  • Design and implement data integration, quality, profile, and ELT processes.
  • Aid efforts to perform source to target data mapping, data extraction and loading.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to improve data quality.
  • Identify the business implications of data-related decisions.

Requirements

A successful candidate will have:

  • Experience with visualization tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, and/or Sigma.
  • High proficiency in Data Modeling techniques (Data Lake, Kimball, etc).
  • Experience and knowledge of data management practices, data modeling, data marts, data warehouses, ETL development, MDX, OLAP
  • Knowledge of Snowflake or other cloud databases and dbt.
  • Knowledge of ETL/ELT tools such as Qlik Talend, SSIS, Data Stage, BODS, Informatica, and others.
  • Demonstrated high capability and interest in learning new tools and technologies.
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) and Java, .Net or Python.
  • Ability to read between the lines to understand clients’ needs and translate them into specific implementation strategies.
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
