Description

We are seeking a Senior Application Technical Lead to work On-Site at our Austin, Texas client playing a critical role in consolidating and transitioning application support services across multiple departments into a centralized IT organization. This role supports a strategic initiative to assess and implement the transition of decentralized or 'shadow' IT resources into a centralized IT division. The project focuses on enhancing IT governance, optimizing service delivery, and improving enterprise-wide visibility, security, and reporting. This transformation will involve evaluating current IT roles, aligning resources with a new organizational design, and facilitating infrastructure and application support integration. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and business units to evaluate existing application support structures, recommend integration strategies, and guide the alignment of support services under the new centralized model.

Key Responsibilities:

* Review and assess current application support responsibilities distributed across various business units.

* Identify and recommend consolidation opportunities to eliminate redundancies and optimize support coverage.

* Lead the technical integration of application services into the centralized IT structure.

* Collaborate with stakeholders to understand application dependencies, support needs, and service-level requirements.

* Support the transition planning, role realignment, and onboarding of staff affected by application support changes.

* Contribute to the development of standardized processes and procedures for application support and maintenance.

* Partner with Organizational Change Management (OCM) and communications teams to ensure smooth stakeholder engagement and adoption of new support models.

* Provide technical leadership in defining scalable and sustainable application support practices.

* Help inventory and assess current and planned IT systems and projects for centralization.

Requirements:

* Minimum of 8 years of experience in enterprise application support or technical leadership roles.

* Proven experience leading application integration or centralization efforts across complex organizational structures.

* Deep understanding of application lifecycle management, infrastructure support, and IT service delivery.

* Experience working in or with public-sector organizations, with an understanding of government IT structures and governance models.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to assess current-state operations and recommend effective transition strategies.

* Effective communicator with experience collaborating across diverse stakeholder groups.

* Familiarity with classification analysis, organizational redesign, and role alignment strategies is a strong plus.

* Experience supporting large-scale IT transformation or OCM initiatives is highly desirable.

Preferred:

* PMP, ITIL, or relevant technical certifications.

* Experience in multi-department or enterprise-wide IT consolidation projects.

* Understanding of cybersecurity, access control, and enterprise application security in the public sector.
