Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deploy DWDM transport systems across metro/regional networks
  • Support installation and maintenance of muxponders, transponders, amplifiers, ROADMs
  • Perform fiber testing (OSNR, light levels, OTDR, spectrum analysis)
  • Troubleshoot Layer 1 transport issues
  • Maintain network documentation (Visio diagrams, configs, circuit layouts)
  • Collaborate with NOC, Field Techs, and Engineering teams
  • Test new hardware/software in lab environments
  • Contribute to capacity planning and infrastructure expansion

Required Skills

  • Deep knowledge of DWDM, OSNR, dispersion, attenuation
  • Hands-on with platforms like Ciena, Infinera, Nokia, Cisco NCS, ADVA, Ekinops
  • Familiarity with fiber testing tools (OTDRs, light meters, analyzers)
  • Bonus: Layer 2/3 networking, Visio diagramming

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Telecom, Engineering, or related field
  • 3-6 years of experience in optical transport or DWDM systems
  • Telecom or ISP experience preferred

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $105000.00/yr.
