As an intern, you'll work alongside our experienced practitioners and with our clients and communities. This hands-on experience will equip you with practical skills, build your network, and provide opportunities that set you up for success.

Our Lexington, KY Transportation Structural Engineering team is looking for an Intern. Our local structural team consists of about 27 engineers, inspectors and CAD technicians.

Qualifications

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Assist engineers in the preparation of structural construction plans and reports for various transportation and infrastructure projects, including bridges, drainage structures and others.
  • Responsibilities include computer aided design and drafting, checking drawings and calculations, quantity take-offs, simple structural calculations, and field inspection.
  • Office environment working with computer at a desk. Some allowance for working remotely from home. Field work may include exposure to the elements, including inclement weather.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

Minimum requirements include:

Good academic standing in an accredited engineering school.
  • Must have good organizational skills, be reliable, detail oriented, and capable of taking initiative.
  • Good communication skills required.

Education and Experience

Candidate must be at least, or entering, junior year in undergrad. Goal to earn master's degree in civil/Structural Engineering is preferred.
  • Computer skills preferred: AutoCAD/Microstation, Microsoft Excel/Word/Outlook/Teams, Mathcad, Acrobat/Bluebeam PDF

About the Team

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
