Job title: Field Network Implementation Specialist
Location: Peoria, IL
Contract/CTH 6-12 months with the potential to convert to full time
Role:
Network Deployment Specialists work with client implementation teams to install and configure communications equipment related to LAN, WAN, Voice and Wireless.
The Network Deployment Specialist will work at the direction of a Project Manager or Implementation Coordinator to complete the implementation of communication solutions in healthcare client environments.
The position is client-facing, requiring the ability to deal diplomatically with internal and external stakeholders in a potentially high-stress, customer-oriented environment.
Primary Projects:
Cisco IP Phone Migration: 2-3 individuals for 6 months, on and off shift work, significant travel within Central Illinois.
Network WAN Deployment (SD-WAN): 3 individuals for 12 months. Replace WAN routers and LAN switches at direction of network engineer. 115 locations throughout Illinois, significant travel, on and off shift work.
Clinic Wireless Refresh: 2 individuals for 12 months. Replace existing access points with new model. 115 locations throughout Illinois, this work will trail behind the Network WAN Deployment. Significant travel, on and off shift work.
Responsibilities:
With the management of the project team, complete assigned duties including the deployment of network and communications equipment.
With oversight and documentation, configure network and communications equipment.
Basic troubleshooting of network, communications and IT equipment typically requiring a general understanding of IT and communications networks.
Effective use of PCNS toolset to document project efforts, modify project related documentation and to communicate with project team and clients.
Collaborate with project management resources to help plan for deployment or upgrade activities by providing input into project work plans, including the definition of key activities and tasks, allocation of resource time and execution of activities in a timely manner.
Implement new technology as specified in approved design documents in a manner that maintains a high degree of professionalism and customer communication along the way.
Key efforts this position will be involved with include wireless network deployments, LAN implementations and voice over IP telephony migrations.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelors or associates degree or equivalent experience.
3+ years of experience installing and configuring network equipment (LAN/WAN, routers, switches, wireless access points, phone systems, etc.).
CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+ certifications or similar are a plus.
Experience with Microsoft and Web-based applications including Microsoft Outlook, Teams, and Excel.
Ability to deal with the ambiguity associated with working in a fast paced and changing environment.
Customer service focused, strong analytical and organizational skills.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Need to have a valid driver's license and a reliable car for travel
Willingness to be available "after hours" and potentially weekends for critical issues and coverage as necessary.
Physical Requirements:
Candidate must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs. unassisted and frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit and stand for long periods of time.
Candidate must also be able to reach at, above and below shoulder level, flex/extend neck and have good hand and finger dexterity.
Specific vision abilities required by this job may include color, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
Travel Required!:
Need to have a valid driver's license and a reliable car, expected travel minimum is 90%
Their office & warehouse is in Peoria, but the job will focus on travel to different work sites across southern and central Illinois and Chicagoland (Peoria, Peru, Bloomington, Rockford, Chicagoland, etc.).
All travel is scheduled and planned ahead of time; will know travel plans in advance
Reimburse for mileage, food, everything needed, if travel is over 100 miles, a rental car will be provided by company
