Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled AI Solutions Architect to join our expanding team supporting the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). In this mission-critical role, you will design, implement, and optimize AI and machine learning solutions that directly support the FDA's public health, regulatory, cybersecurity, and operational priorities.
This role requires a unique blend of technical leadership, domain knowledge, AI/ML expertise, and the ability to collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams in a federal healthcare environment.
This position will be performed remotely with the occasional need for an
onsite meeting in the Washington D.C. area.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Architect secure, scalable, cloud-native AI/ML solutions to meet FDA program requirements.
- Translate FDA mission needs into actionable AI designs using technologies such as LLMs, NLP, predictive analytics, and generative AI.
- Lead implementation of AI models and pipelines, ensuring responsible AI governance, data security, and compliance.
- Collaborate closely with FDA business units, data scientists, cybersecurity teams, engineers, and executives to deliver mission-aligned AI capabilities.
- Provide technical leadership and advisory support to FDA leadership on emerging AI/ML trends and best practices.
- Stay current on AI technologies, federal AI guidance, and ethical AI frameworks.
- Mentor technical teams and contribute to the growth of AI capabilities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or related field.
- 5+ years of professional experience architecting and delivering AI/ML solutions.
- Hands-on experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, Hugging Face, or equivalent frameworks.
- Expertise in AWS GovCloud and/or Azure Government cloud services.
- Experience with Splunk and Meta Llama
- Strong knowledge of federal security and compliance frameworks (FISMA, FedRAMP, HIPAA, Privacy Act).
- Excellent communication, presentation, and client engagement skills.
- U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain FDA Public Trust clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting federal healthcare or life sciences clients (FDA, HHS, NIH, CMS, etc.).
- Knowledge of AI governance, RAG models, fine-tuning LLMs, or generative AI applications.
- Prior experience applying AI to regulated data domains (clinical trials, pharmacovigilance, regulatory submissions, etc.).
- Relevant certifications: PMP, AWS Certified Machine Learning Specialty, ISC2 AI Governance, etc.
