Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer Material Handling & Chute Fabrication
Location: Mason, OH (Initial 1 week Onsite, then Fully Remote)
Type: Contract
Job Description:
We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with a strong background in Material Handling Systems, Chute Design, and Sheet Metal Fabrication using SolidWorks. This role will support custom conveyor system design, with a focus on parcel chute structures.
Location Note:
Initial onboarding requires 1 week onsite in Mason, OH, followed by 100% remote work.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop chute systems and support structures for material handling and conveyor-based solutions.
Create and verify mechanical layouts, detailed drawings, schematics, and BOMs using SolidWorks.
Collaborate with Project Managers, Electrical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, and installation teams to meet project milestones.
Ensure manufacturability, accuracy, and field readiness of all design deliverables.
Maintain documentation and manage the entire lifecycle of chute design.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
5+ years of mechanical design experience, ideally in material handling or industrial automation.
Expertise in SolidWorks for 3D modeling, drafting, and structural analysis.
Strong experience with steel fabrication, chute structures, and conveyor systems (MDR, belted, gravity).
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to fast-paced environments.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of AutoCAD, Solid Edge, or other CAD tools.
Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
