Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $83,800 - $174,200/year; a candidate's salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP). As a Software Engineer II, you'll be collaborating with engineers to design, shape and create innovative solutions. Your solutions will help provide a seamless development experience at Akamai.
As a Software Engineer II, you will be responsible for:
- Writing product or system development code
- Participating in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies
- Reviewing code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices
- Contributing to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback
- Triaging product or system issues and debug/track/resolve
Do what you love
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have 3+ years of experience and a bachelor's degree in computer science/Engineering or relevant fields
- Have production level experience in Golang
- Have good understanding of data structures & algorithms and their real world use cases
- Be proficient in working with big data tool and data pipelines
- Have experience with architecture design, implementing, tuning schema design and query optimization of scalable and distributed systems, databases and big data systems
- Possess knowledge and expertise in setting up, configuring and maintaining distributed query and Presto/TrinoDB Engine.
- Be proficient in manipulating, processing and extracting value from large disconnected datasets.
